Little Wonders - Doll Binoculars Free Tutorial by Romona King of Northbrook Designs

I just love seeing beautiful doll creations from exceptional doll makers that I admire.  And, I love when they tell me about free tutorials they have posted for their doll creations. Such is the case with a new tutorial from Romona King of Northbrook Designs.  It’s a pair of doll binoculars that was created for her new doll "And So She Waits." Romona has posted about her doll in a wonderful three-part series. The first post is her version of the story, the second post is the local legend and the third post is how she made the doll. I hope you enjoy Romona's new tutorial, her new doll, and her three-part series.

Here's what Romona had to say about her tutorial:  When I made the binoculars for my “And So She Waits” doll, I thought there must be other doll makers that might like to do the same, so I have written up this short tutorial to help you with that. When you see how simple this is, you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of it. ;o)

Shrinky Dinks Tutorial By June Crawford of A Creative Dream

Do you remember shrinky dinks? If you do then you'll be happy to know that June Crawford has a wonderful tutorial on her A Creative Dream blog showing you how to make a piece of jewelry out of a shrinky dink. Have fun!

Copyright © 2010 - All Rights Reserved - Written by June Crawford of A Creative Dream

Here's what June had to say about her tutorial:  Shrinky Dinks? I get the strangest looks when I mention them. Way back in the dark ages, back when I was a girl...you could buy something called Shrinky Dinks, usually they were pre-printed with something, you colored them in and then baked them (had to be really careful baking over those open flames in the cave)...they shrank and voila...you have this hard plastic thing you could hang from a necklace or something...at least if you remembered to poke a hole in them BEFORE you baked them.

A few years ago I found plain sheets of Shrinky Dinks...and, of course, had to buy them. After all, now that I have an electric oven instead of the cave fires, it should be even easier...  So...the other day while rummaging on the crafty shelf, I ran across the package of them and thought...."you know...those doodles I am so addicted to doing would make a great piece of jewelry..." and thus...

I love unusual and unique jewelry. If you do too then you'll be happy to know that Sue Bleiweiss of Sue Bleiweiss website has another wonderful tutorial showing you how to create painted lace cuffs on her Sue Bleiweiss blog. I hope you enjoy Sue's tutorial.

Here's what Sue had to say about her painted lace cuff tutorial:

Once you see how fast and easy these cuffs are to make you’ll want to make a different one for each day of the week! To make the cuffs in these directions I’m using a painted lace surface. Check the Painted Lace Surfaces free project sheet for directions on how to create these surfaces. If you’d rather not create a painted lace surface you could just fuse a layer of fabric to a piece of Timtex and use that as the base for your cuff.
