Mini Houses Tutorial By June Crawford of A Creative Dream

I just love making houses and using house pictures to decorate my home. To my delight June Crawford had a wonderful tutorial on her A Creative Dream blog showing you how to make mini clay houses. I just LOVE them and will be adding some to my "to do" list. How about you?

Ahh... the weekend... a couple of them ago I spent my weekend making tiny houses from polymer clay and then shared them with you guys on this post. I had a couple of people ask what I had made them from, and Susan asked if I'd consider doing a tutorial... well, heck yeah... you ask, I try to make it happen! These tiny things are simple, simple, simple... I promise!

One of my dreams is to learn how to make paper clay heads for goddess dolls using paper clay. So, I can't tell you how thrilled I was to see that Laura Carson had a wonderful tutorial on her Artfully Musing blog showing you how to make your own molds and how to mold with paper clay. I am thrilled and can hardly wait to learn how to do this. Have you always wanted to learn how to do this? If so, here's your chance.

Making Your Own Molds and Molding with Paper Clay

Here's what Laura had to say about her tutorial: This tutorial walks you through the steps of making a mold and then molding items using paper clay. You can make a mold from metal or plastic objects and from rubber stamps. The mold you make can be used with a variety of materials including UTEE, wax, soap, and air clay or clay requiring baking. The mold can stand up to the heat of materials such as melted wax. For the purposes of this tutorial I’m going to focus on using the paper clay with the mold because for me it is the most common use molds and it doesn’t require the use of a melting pot or oven.

Mooo-ey Christmas Tutorial By June Crawford of A Creative Dream

Here's what June had to say about her tutorial: Really bad, huh? Even for me...moo-ey....but hey, it's Christmas... The luncheon went well at work, although I have to tell ya, there was more cake left over than I'd expected. Usually, when I take treats in they are wolfed down within the hour (The Little One says you can feel the earth rumble as they all make their way to where the treats are)...we did have an awful lot of stuff there though, so I am going to attribute it to that...'cause the cake was darned good!

And, now...I am finishing up the ornaments I want to give my co-workers. This is the first one I got finished. My "real" job deals with agriculture, and one of the offices in the building deals specifically with milk. This ornament is for Cathy, who works in that office. It seemed only appropriate that I something cute using cows for her.

One of my favorite ornaments on my tree is a crescent moon with a cow dangling over it that I made several years ago (you can see the moon behind these cows)...the cow jumping over the moon. I liked how the cow turned out when I made it, and thought I'd use the same sort of thing for this. The moon one is made of salt dough, this one is made of polymer clay.

Here's what Alisa had to say about her tutorial: I have been in the midst of organizing and cleaning my studio (its been a while and desperately needs to be done!) and after lots of work I ended up with a GIGANTIC pile of fabric scraps. While I am pretty organized with all of my scraps- I tend to keep just about everything that is fabric and it was time to scale it down a little. I had the idea to use all those scraps to create wall art inspired by the vibe of my new book- Sew Wild so I made a BIG painting full of all my leftover scraps that had the look of a quilt but without the sewing.
