Cookies and Milk Snack Mat Tutorial By Amy of nanaCompany

I can hear my mother asking, "Who wants cookies and milk?" Me, me! Especially if it's served on an adorable snack mat like the one Amy has on her nanaCompany blog. I hope you enjoy Amy's tutorial.

Here's what Amy had to say about her tutorial: Cookies and milk. Mmmm. We use these snack mats every night just before bed. And as I've said... cuter than paper plates, reusable, washable, and handmade with love. Let's do it!

Amy's Bio - Hi, my name is Amy. I live in a small house near the ocean in Los Angeles with my three children and my awesome husband. We are a lively family but we live very quietly ~ I can honestly say that all five of us are homebodies, looking forward to returning home whenever we go out. But the fun thing I've discovered while looking through my camera these past years, is that there is a lot of beauty in our "everyday." And I'm looking forward to sharing with you my life as I create and explore new ways to find that beauty.

Completely self-taught in everything, I am a "see it- do it" kind of girl. And I love trying new things. Maybe someday I'll have a real style, but for now I love vintage and modern, girly and clean, and everything in between.

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial:  Right, I am not going to tell you how tough life is at the moment, so let's look at some ways to save a little bit of money over the Christmas holiday, which means this week we will make gift bows, candle holders and place settings.

Ros's Bio:I live by the sea, in Essex, in Leigh-on-sea. I have been making things since I was a child, earliest memories were embroidering squares of binca matting, making felt egg cups and ripping back my knitting when my sister had picked up a dropped stitch... yep, it really did have to be all my own work! I am a dreadful hoarder, with stashes of wool and fabric hidden around my house, together with the projects that I have not yet finished. I am currently making cushions, quilted, appliqued, stencilled... actually just anything that I will enjoy crafting.

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial:  I am trying to be really good this year and make as many gifts as possible... so then I thought how can I save money on my wreath? Well I have to confess each year I have picked up a couple of Christmas fat quarters in the local fabric shop and then I think, what am I actually going to make with this? The obvious answer is a rag wreath.

Pierina's Snuggly Hot Water Bottle Cover - Christmas Tutorial No. 12 By Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog

If you love to knit and are looking for a great gift for someone who is always cold then you'll be pleased to know that Ros Coffey has another wonderful  tutorial on her RosMadeMe Blog blog showing you how to make a knitted hot water bottle cover.  What a great gift.

Pierina's Snuggly Hot Water Bottle Cover - Christmas Tutorial no. 12

Copyright © 2011 - All Rights Reserved - Written by Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog.

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial:  My best friend is Pierina, I met her on my first day at secondary school, over 40 years ago and she has the misfortune to live in a household of hot blooded men! So hot blooded are they that they constantly turn down/off the radiators, which means that layers and a hot water bottle are the only way for a girl to go!

Now this is a really easy and quick gift to make for your friends, it took me just over three hours to knit and another hour to Swiss darn and sew up. To add a little more interest we will also be using a twisted rib, which sounds so much more complicated than it really is and a moss/seed stitch frame to emphasise your Swiss darning. You can vary the darning to create a snowflake, initials or any other pattern that takes your fancy... I have used a heart cos I love my hot water bottle in the Winter!

Not Tea Again, Surely - Christmas Tutorial No. 16 By Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog

I may be a little biased when it comes to the next tutorial.  You see, I'm a tea drinker and LOVE tea.  So, of course, I was thrilled to see that Ros Coffey had a tutorial on her RosMadeMe Blog blog showing you how to paint an adorable tea set.   What a great gift for grandparents from their grandchildren.

Not Tea Again, Surely - Christmas Tutorial no. 16

Copyright © 2011 - All Rights Reserved - Written by Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog.

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial:  I really cannot believe this but yes, this is another tutorial to do with tea! This is something that you can get the children to do for grandparents and aunts and uncles... it is a real Blue Peter coverall! And no it is not the infamous Advent Crown, complete with candles, coathangers and tinsel... the Fire Prevention Officer's nightmare. We are going to paint up a Christmas morning tea set:

Confession time - I had this tutorial written on Sunday... but it just wasn't up to snuff, you see I cannot paint or draw and my efforts looked simply awful and then it came to me to use a stencil and sponge to cover up for my deficiencies. So if anyone wants a real challenge, teach me to paint or draw something that is recognisable next year... go on, I dare you!

Midweek Mini-Tute - Mini Bunting Tutorial By Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog

I can remember visiting my grandmother and seeing the lace paper bunting she used to have tacked along the edges of her pantry so when I saw the tutorial that Ros Coffey had on her RosMadeMe Blog blog for making a mini banner I was pleasantly reminded of a time long ago.  Thanks, Ros.   If you'd like to learn how to make a mini-bunting for the edges of your shelves check out Ros's tutorial.

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial:  WI don't know about you but I love little things, and I recently was looking at my scrap bag, alright I admit it, I was looking at just one of my scrap bags that I could see and realised that not even Poppy Treffry could use all of this in a month of Sundays.

So I sat looking at my sad living room and decided that what my shelves needed was some down and dirty mini-bunting to cheer them up.

Vintage Jelly Form Pincushion Free Tutorial By Karen Bailey of Todolwen Blog

I have a passion for pincushions and love seeing the millions of different pincushion creations there are on the web for them.  I thought I had seen just about every kind there was, but Karen Bailey surpised me with a wonderful tutorial on her Todolwen blog showing you how to make a vintage jelly form pincushion.  That's definitely one I haven't seen before.

Here's what Karen had to say about her tutorial:  At First Disapointed But Not Anymore ~ A New Tutorial - Hello my dear friends, I woke up at 6 am yesterday morning and since it was a grey and rainy morning and I had no intention to venture out of the house or wanted to spend my day tidying my craft room (I know I really should have), I decided I wanted to create a new tutorial for you in which I was going to recycle small tins. I sat down in my dining room at the big window for about 2 hours, wrote the instructions as a post, saved it and then worked on the actual creating part but unfortunately things just didn't want to look the way I had imagined them, so I gave up on the idea for the moment. Eventually I will return to it and work on it more another time. You never know, it might work out fine the next time round.

I must admit I was quite disappointed with myself that my idea didn't work, so I just had to try something different, hoping it would work out this time. The basic idea stayed the same but I decided to use different materials then I had chosen the first time and I think it worked out fine. So here is a new tutorial for you ...

... a vintage jelly form pincushion tutorial.

Let's Quilt While We're Ahead - The Log Cabin Cushion Free Tutorial By Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog

I just LOVE decorating with pillows and love changing them for different seasons and holidays - or for no reason at all.  If you do, too then you'll be pleased to know that Ros Coffey has a tutorial on her RosMadeMe Blog blog showing you how to make a wonderful log cabin cushion.  Have fun decorating.

Let's Quilt While We're Ahead - The Log Cabin Cushion

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial:  We have been doing quite a few projects recently that have used some quilting now it's time for us to venture into some proper quilting blocks and I thought we could start with a nice easy pattern, Log Cabin which is also known as Cathedral Steps. It is a great block to start with as it gets you used to cutting and sewing accurately. I know that the purists may say but you are using a machine but sometimes you need some instant gratification and later we will move on to hand sewing quilting blocks... but lets learn to walk before we embark on a marathon.

Going, Going, Gone... The Luggage Label Free Tutorial By Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog

If you're a frequent traveler and have ever had the unpleasant experience of trying to locate your luggage from hundreds of other pieces then you'll be pleased to know that Ros Coffey has a tutorial on her RosMadeMe Blog blog showing you how to make a luggage tag that's easy to find. What a great idea.

Going, Going, Gone... The Luggage Label Tutorial

Copyright © 2012 - All Rights Reserved - Written by Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog.

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial:  The first time I went to New York was a disaster, especially as I arrived there in a pair of BA pajamas (the stewardess decided I would look better wearing my red wine...), the car that was picking me up was booked for the wrong time (note to self, not everyone can cope with a 24 hour clock) but it would have been much worse if I had not checked the bag I picked up off the carousel which had to be mine... except where did those rather scuzzy Y fronts come from? That is the moment that I realised you need something to mark out your luggage from the herd... and I am not talking about sticky multi-coloured tape on your case but something a little more sophisticated, your very own luggage label to chime in with where you are going.

Ros's Bio:I live by the sea, in Essex, in Leigh-on-sea. So when it comes to October/Halloween decor I like to create things that actually feel more summery and will go with the airy cottage feel of our home. I decided that this year I would create pretty little pumpkins in pastel colors full of detail and design.

Here's what Alisa had to say about her tutorial: I needed some last minute decorations for the weekend and while it would have been really easy to just make a trip to Target, I decided to put more of my felt scraps to use to make a colorful, free form, felt leaves centerpiece for our table.
